The Italian University Network for Development Cooperation (CUCS ― Coordinamento Universitario per la Cooperazione allo Sviluppo; https://retecucs.it/) was born in 2007 on the initiative the Italian Ministry for Foreign Affairs aimed at promoting coordination among Italian universities on topics related to international development cooperation, including exchanges between, university students, researchers, young people and teachers.
Ca. 30 universities signed the first memorandum of understanding of the CUCS network on a voluntary basis in 2007. Until 2019, the CUCS network has been coordinated by the Polytechnic University of Milan.
Every two years the CUCS organizes a conference attended by people involved in university cooperation with developing countries.
The last conference was organized by the University of Trento in 2019 (https://event.unitn.it/cucs2019/it/)
The CUCS is promoted by the Conference of Italian University Rectors
